Chronic back & neck pain
Persistent spinal pain that has not responded to other treatments.
Class IV far-red and infrared laser technology that reduces inflammation and promotes tissue healing — offered alongside osteopathic care by Gugan Hair, with over twenty years of clinical experience.

K-Laser is a Class IV therapeutic laser that delivers specific wavelengths of far-red and infrared light deep into the tissue. Unlike surgical lasers, it does not cut or heat the skin — instead it works through a process called photobiomodulation, where the light energy is absorbed by the cells and converted into biochemical energy that supports repair.
At Potters Bar Spine Clinic, K-Laser is used as part of a tailored osteopathic programme — not as a standalone quick fix. Gugan assesses the root cause of your pain first, then combines laser therapy with hands-on treatment and rehabilitation so the benefits last beyond the session.
When the laser light reaches the target tissue, the cells absorb the photons and use them to power their natural repair processes. The result is reduced inflammation, improved blood flow and faster recovery in the treated area.
01
Light energy is delivered
The laser handpiece applies controlled far-red and infrared light to the painful or injured area.
02
Cells absorb the photons
The light is absorbed by the cells, boosting energy production and stimulating repair.
03
Inflammation eases & healing speeds up
Blood flow improves and inflammation reduces, helping tissue recover and pain subside.
K-Laser is used to support recovery from a range of painful musculoskeletal conditions, often where inflammation is a key factor.
Persistent spinal pain that has not responded to other treatments.
Muscle tears, ligament strains and soft-tissue damage from sport.
Inflammation and stiffness in joints such as the knee, shoulder and hip.
Tendonitis, repetitive strain and slow-healing soft-tissue injuries.
Supporting tissue repair and reducing inflammation after surgery.
Irritated nerves, sciatica and radiating pain along the limb.
Reduces inflammation
Laser light helps calm inflamed tissue at the source of the pain.
Promotes tissue healing
Photobiomodulation stimulates cellular repair and regeneration.
Drug-free & non-invasive
No needles, no medication — a gentle option alongside osteopathy.
Improves blood flow
Increased circulation delivers oxygen and nutrients to damaged tissue.
Often quick to apply
Sessions are typically short and require no recovery downtime.
Part of a full programme
Combined with hands-on treatment and rehab for lasting results.
Your first visit begins with a full consultation. Gugan takes a detailed history, assesses your movement and pain, and decides whether K-Laser is the right addition to your programme.
Session length
Standard consultation 45 minutes; extended treatment 60 minutes.
What it feels like
A soothing warmth in the treated area — comfortable and relaxing.
Afterwards
No downtime — you can return to your usual day straight away.

K-Laser therapy is a Class IV therapeutic laser treatment that uses specific wavelengths of far-red and infrared light to penetrate tissue, reduce inflammation and stimulate the body's natural healing processes. It is a non-invasive, drug-free option used alongside osteopathic care at Potters Bar Spine Clinic.
The laser delivers light energy (photons) that are absorbed by the cells in the treated area. This process — known as photobiomodulation — increases cellular energy production, improves blood flow and reduces inflammation, which together help relieve pain and accelerate tissue repair.
Many patients at the clinic report reduced pain and improved mobility after a course of K-Laser sessions, particularly when it is combined with a tailored osteopathic and rehabilitation programme. Results vary between individuals and depend on the condition being treated, its severity and how long it has been present.
K-Laser therapy is delivered as part of your treatment session. A standard consultation is 45 minutes at £60 and an extended treatment session is 60 minutes at £82.50. Gugan will advise whether laser therapy is appropriate for you during your initial assessment.
Cover varies between insurers and policies. We recommend checking with your provider directly before booking. If you have any questions, call the clinic on 0203 096 0077 and we will be happy to help.
Most people feel a soothing warmth in the area being treated. The laser handpiece is held against the skin or just above it, and the session is generally comfortable and relaxing. There is no recovery downtime, so you can return to your day afterwards.
Book an assessment with Gugan and she'll build a programme around your pain — laser therapy included where appropriate.
